Our History

A.L. Adams Construction Company, LLC was founded in 2021 by Franklin Adams, reviving the name and legacy of the original A.L. Adams Construction, established by his father in the late 1960’s. Although the original company was acquired by M.B. Kahn in 1990, Franklin is proud to restore the family name and continue its tradition of excellence under this new entity.

A.L. Adams Construction Company’s core value is to empower employees to create a culture of success and unmatched quality of service. The Executive Staff, Superintendents, Project Managers, Trade Partners, and Design Partners all work together to ensure the client’s vision is fully realized.

He is recognized for consistently meeting and exceeding owner expectations by driving efficiency, maintaining control of budgets and schedules, and ensuring that the quality delivered aligns with the intent.

Joy brings more than 25 years of experience in office administration, along with a strong background in manufacturing and recycling. As Assistant Controller at A.L. Adams, she oversees invoice processing and supports key administrative functions across the organization. A graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in finance, Joy is valued for her reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to supporting operational excellence.

Jeff is a seasoned Construction Project Manager and Superintendent with 35 years of construction experience and decades of experience leading more than 50 self-storage and commercial projects. Jeff is known for a boots-on- the-ground leadership style, keeping complex builds on schedule, under budget, and safe. He is skilled in managing crews, subcontractors, and suppliers while maintaining strong relationships with owners, inspectors, and design teams. Jeff is seasoned in cost control, contract negotiation, and field coordination across utilities, structural, and finish work, and is committed to safety, quality, and delivering results the right way.

Sam is an experienced construction professional with a track record of leading numerous self-storage and retail projects throughout the southeast. His unique approach stems from his bachelor’s degree in Wildlife & Fisheries Biology Management from Clemson University. He combined this expertise with his construction experience as a civil and site work contractor in Colorado to build special parks and developments prior to joining the A.L. Adams Construction team.

Skyler offers the team a keen eye for detail, thanks to his former experience meticulously managing floor plans, finish packages, and work phasing for a multi- family developer and general contractor. He joined A.L. Adams Construction in early 2025, assisting project teams with subcontractor scope view, permitting, daily reporting, and much more. Skyler’s skills were quickly recognized, and he began running multiple projects on his own. No matter the project type or size, his expertise is an asset to the team.

Jared brings in years of invaluable experience, specializing in retail and grocery remodeling projects. He is highly skilled at sequencing specific remodeling activities, which require acute attention to detail and comprehensive planning. In addition to retail and grocery construction, Jared leads new construction self-storage and commercial projects for A.L. Adams Construction.

Zach is a trusted construction professional, bringing 12 years of industry experience to A. L. Adams Construction as a Preconstruction Manager. Originally from Greenwood, SC, Zach attended Piedmont Technical College, where he studied Building Construction Technology. His responsibilities include supporting project design and planning, developing detailed scopes of work, and leading the preparation of comprehensive proposals and budgets. He collaborates closely with trade partners and subcontractors to secure bid participation, identifies and mitigates project risks, delivers accurate estimates aligned with project objectives, and manages the seamless transition from the preconstruction phase to the operations team.

Red is a skilled field operations professional, bringing a wealth of experience and a hands-on approach to leadership to A.L. Adams Construction. As the company’s General Superintendent, Red oversees field operations across multiple projects, ensuring consistent adherence to safety standards, schedule, quality control, and workforce coordination, and serves as a direct resource to project teams and field staff.

Kirk Barr brings 15 years of experience in commercial construction and currently serves as Assistant Superintendent at A.L. Adams Construction. He has spent the past five years in superintendent and assistant superintendent roles, supporting the execution of complex projects. Kirk is responsible for maintaining safe, efficient, and well-organized jobsites, coordinating with trade partners to resolve field issues, and documenting daily progress to ensure schedule alignment and accountability.

Alan is an experienced and driven Superintendent, bringing more than 30 years of construction experience to the team, with extensive expertise in managing large-scale commercial construction projects. Throughout his career, he has prioritized safety, quality control, and setting realistic goals and expectations for his team. Known for his leadership, project execution, and proactive problem-solving, Alan is dedicated to delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget while upholding all safety and compliance standards.

Jorge Villargan

Jorge has spent 21 years in the commercial construction industry, including 15 years as a Superintendent. He is originally from Maryland and holds an associate’s degree in Construction Management and Architecture from Montgomery College. He currently oversees full project management and team supervision, working closely with foremen to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Robert has a vast background in new construction, upfits, and remodels, bringing his expertise to the team in 2025. He started his work with A.L. Adams Construction by successfully completing a project for a new client, which further strengthened the client relationship and allowed us to continue working with them. Robert fosters a positive, safe environment, and his expert leadership and team-building skills likely stem from his years playing professional baseball.
